King Charles used his Christmas message on Monday to call on people to help those less fortunate during a time of hardship and global conflict. Speaking from the Centre Room at Buckingham Palace, which opens onto the palace balcony, Charles paid tribute to those making a difference in their communities. Alluding to the outbreak of war in the Middle East this year, he added: ‘At a time of increasingly tragic conflict around the world, I pray that we can also do all in our power to protect each other’
